DRAFT v0.1 — for attorney review. Not legal advice.
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE] · Last updated: June 7, 2026
These API & Developer Terms ("API Terms") govern access to and use of the CarriersScore application programming interfaces, webhooks, sandbox, and related developer materials (the "API"). They are an addendum to, and incorporate, the Subscriber Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, and FCRA & Permissible-Use Notice. The party accessing the API is the "Partner" or "you." If you act on behalf of others, additional terms below apply.
Subject to these API Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to access the API solely to build and operate your authorized integration, within the scopes granted to your credentials. All rights not granted are reserved.
API access is a premium, paid feature. Live API access requires an active account in good standing. If your account becomes past due, suspended, canceled, or otherwise not entitled, live API access may be disabled or rate-limited immediately until the account is restored. A sandbox/test mode is provided for development against synthetic data and does not incur charges; it must not be used with real production data or for production decisions.
You must keep client credentials, secrets, tokens, and signing keys confidential, rotate them as instructed, and are responsible for all activity under your credentials. Notify us immediately at info@carriersscore.com of any compromise. You will verify webhook signatures and implement reasonable security for any data you receive.
If you access the API on behalf of your own customers (e.g., a TMS or platform acting for brokers), you represent that: (a) you are authorized to act for each such customer ("Acting Account"); (b) each Acting Account is bound to terms at least as protective as the Subscriber Terms and the FCRA & Permissible-Use Notice; (c) you will pass through the prohibited-use and consent requirements; and (d) you will not commingle or use one customer's data for another. You are responsible for your customers' compliance and for billing where applicable.
You will: use the API only for the permitted business purposes in the FCRA Notice; honor Hard-Pull consent requirements; respect rate limits, quotas, and caching/retention rules we specify; and display Scores only with their context, confidence, sourcing, and as-of date. You will not: resell, redistribute, or publicly display raw Service data or Scores except as expressly permitted; cache or store data beyond what your integration reasonably requires or longer than permitted; use the API to build or train a competing dataset, database, score, or model; reverse engineer the API or methodology; or exceed or circumvent scopes, limits, or controls.
We may modify, version, or deprecate the API and may change rate limits, scopes, and data fields. We will use reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of breaking changes [via the developer changelog/URL]. You are responsible for updating your integration.
We may suspend or revoke API access immediately for non-payment, security risk, suspected abuse, violation of these API Terms or the AUP/FCRA Notice, excessive load, or as required by a data licensor or law.
Use of our name, logos, and any "powered by" attribution must follow our brand and attribution guidelines [URL]. You will not imply endorsement or partnership beyond the actual relationship.
The API is provided "as is" and "as available." The warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification in the Subscriber Terms apply to the API and your integration, and you additionally indemnify us for claims arising from your integration, your customers' use, and your handling of data received via the API.
Either party may terminate API access per the Subscriber Terms; on termination you must stop using the API, delete cached Service data except records you are legally required to keep, and revoke credentials.
